You can soft hike to the beautiful Loquinhas waterfall, located near Alto Paraíso and indulge in a refreshing bath in the natural pool. The 4 km hike should take you about an hour. At the end of the day, enjoy a unique, relaxing massage therapy at the Mandala Spa.
- Cancellations need to be made at least two weeks prior to the trip.
- Climate - Chapada has two well-defined seasons: the dry season is from April to October, while the rainy season is from October to May. Both seasons are beautiful in their individual ways.
- Trails - Bring light clothes (t-shirts and trousers), bathing suits, comfortable walking shoes, backpack, sun block, hat or cap, repellents and camera. For rainy months, a good light rain-coat may be required.
- Clothes - Besides those mentioned above, bring warm clothing for nights and light clothes for day.
- Money - In Alto Paraíso, you can withdraw money at Itaú (open Mon to Fri from 9 hr to 15 hr) and agencies of the Banco do Brasil (open Mon to Fri from 9 hr to 15 hr).
In the village of São Jorge, there are no banks. There are no foreign currencies exchanges either. In Cavalcante, few establishments accept credit card. The main supermarket takes VisaElectron and RedeShop.
The banks of the city are: Banco do Brasil (open Mon to Fri from 9 hr to 12 hr - auto-assistance is provided until 22 hr) and Banco Bradesco (Mon to Fri from 9 hr to 16 hr - in the agency of the Post office). There are no foreign currency exchanges either. Bring money, credit card and cash. Exchange your traveller's checks at the airport.
- Communication - Both Alto Paraíso and São Jorge provide good signals for cellular and local operators: Vivo, Claro and BrasilTelecom. Alto Paraíso also has cyber cafes. Cavalcante has good cell phone service (only Vivo). It has cyber cafes too.
